I recognise Vera Clark for more than 15 years of dedicated volunteering with the Eden Community Access Centre and for her outstanding contribution to Eden and the Bega Valley.
Vera helps people access essential services, build digital skills and stay connected. Through patient, practical support, she guides residents through a digital world and helps ensure no one is left isolated or excluded.
As a long-serving Centrelink volunteer, Vera assists people to navigate complex government systems and online requirements. She is an Australian Taxation Office-trained volunteer, helping people complete tax returns when they cannot afford or access commercial services.
Her contribution goes further. Vera provides one-on-one IT assistance, runs computer classes and organises activities that build confidence and digital literacy. She produces the monthly Eden Connection newsletter, keeping residents informed about news, events and opportunities.
What makes Vera’s service special is her readiness to help anyone who needs support. Whether assisting with a computer, completing an important form, or sharing community news, she responds with generosity, patience and care.
Volunteers like Vera are invaluable to regional communities. I thank her for more than 15 years of service and congratulate her on being a valued member of the Eden community.
