I was pleased to attend the Moruya Public School Art in the Making fundraising event on Friday 18 September

This year Moruya Public School presented Art in the Making – an exhibition of student produced artwork which is auctioned as a fundraising initiative to support our school and students.

Each class has been guided by a local artist to create a collaborative art piece. The theme for the exhibition is Belonging.

More than 40 exhibits were displayed.

The artwork was of outstanding quality and covered a wide range of media from painting to ceramics to textiles

Complimentary food and refreshments were serviced by the Kitchen Garden Kids Catering Crew, and they were supported by Moruya High School Hospitality students.

Before the auction, the audience was entertained by Minor Disruption a band of year 3 to 5 students.

They rocked on with covers of Nirvana and The White Stripes.

The highlight was Recess their version of Smoko by The Chats.

Congratulations to all the students at Moruya Public School.

Finally, thanks to the Art in the Making Committee and Moruya Public School P&C Association for making the event such a success.
