Congratulations to Farann Bussa of Moruya, an outstanding local athlete proudly representing Australia in polocrosse.

Farann was selected in the Australian team to compete against the reigning world champions, South Africa, in an international test series in Underberg. It is a remarkable achievement, reflecting years of dedication, discipline and exceptional skill.

Despite having to compete overseas with unfamiliar horses, the Australian team won the series 3-0, winning the final match by an incredible 25 goals.

The Australian team is well positioned for next year’s Polocrosse World Cup in Zimbabwe.

Since starting polocrosse at the age of 5, Farann has represented Australia internationally since 2010, competed at national level from under-12s, and won two national championships.

Polocrosse demands horsemanship, athleticism, precision and teamwork. Farann trains daily on her Moruya property, runs two businesses and raises her young family. Such is her determination and work ethic.

She is nurturing the next generation of riders, including her own daughter, who is following in her footsteps.

Farann is a fine ambassador for Moruya, the Far South Coast and Australia.

I congratulate her on her selection, her success in South Africa, and thank her for inspiring young athletes across our community.
