For two decades, Clean Energy for Eternity has been part of the fabric of the Bega Valley and the South Coast. Long before clean energy was mainstream, residents were meeting in community halls, sharing information, and making the case that our region could lead—not follow—the transition to renewable energy. This organisation has helped shape local conversations about solar, energy efficiency and sustainability at a time when those ideas were still dismissed by many. In a community that values its landscapes, coastlines and productive land, Clean Energy for Eternity has consistently argued that protecting the environment and building a resilient local economy go hand in hand. Its work has supported informed debate across the electorate—from Bega to Bermagui, from Merimbula to Candelo—and has helped normalise practical, community led solutions that now feel part of everyday life. Most importantly, Clean Energy for Eternity has always been powered by volunteers: local people giving their time, skills and energy because they care deeply about this place and its future. I thank everyone involved, past and present, and congratulate Clean Energy for Eternity on 20 years of persistence, leadership and local action.
