I recognise Mr Bert Hunt, whose contribution to surf lifesaving spans an extraordinary 63 years.

As Bert steps down as President of Moruya Surf Life Saving Club, I acknowledge a lifetime of service that has helped shape the club, and the wider community.

Bert has been a dedicated member and active lifesaver, giving his time, energy and leadership to an organisation that plays such a vital role on the Far South Coast.

On patrol, in surf boats, mentoring members, serving on committees, and advocating for the club's future, Bert has always put Moruya Surf Life Saving Club first.

When it comes to improving the club, Bert is relentless. His determination, persistence and commitment have driven countless improvements over the years

Such commitment saves lives and provides reassurance to locals and visitors alike. Volunteers like Bert are the backbone of that service.

His legacy is measured in the generations of members he has inspired, the culture of dedication he has fostered and the stronger, more resilient club he leaves behind.
