I recognise Belinda Dorsett and her contribution to the Eurobodalla community through The Mossy Cafe.

Ten years ago, Belinda entered hospitality with no industry experience. Through hard work, determination and a willingness to learn, she transformed a small-town cafe into a successful group of three regional venues.

She studied commercial cookery at TAFE, qualified as a chef and developed the skills to run a growing business. Her resilience was tested during the COVID-19 pandemic, but she adapted. The success of takeaway services helped inspire Mossy on Train in Broulee, while a further opportunity created another much-loved venue at the Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Garden.

Most importantly, Belinda supported the people who worked beside her. When selling the business, she ensured her staff were supported, their employment benefits retained and their years of service recognised.

After a decade of demanding work, Belinda has earned a well-deserved break. Her story reflects entrepreneurship, resilience, adaptability and community. She created welcoming places, provided local jobs and strengthened the character of our region.

I thank Belinda for all she has contributed, congratulate her on building a business of which she can be proud, and wish her every success and happiness in the next chapter.
